RULES
4a Captains of all teams/divisions MUST exchange the names of players no later than
15 minutes prior to the commencement of the game, at this point the toss will be made.
Teams arriving late will be deemed to have lost the toss and will be deducted an over for
Every 4 minutes they are late, these overs will be deducted whether they bat 1st or 2nd.
These overs will only be deducted from the latecomers.
4b Each match will consist of one innings per team.
6a If a team declares early They will lose all wickets, i.e. Team scores 233-4 and declare no
later than the 45th over will declare for 233-10. Opposition do not receive the extra overs.
6b If the weather intervenes a minimum of 32 overs (16 overs per side) shall constitute a
match
6c If the weather intervenes during the 1st innings, 1 over shall be deducted per side for
every 6 minutes lost, this relates to one or more delays.
6d If the weather intervenes during the 2nd innings the team batting must have played more
than 16 overs otherwise this will be classed as void and both teams will receive 6
points each only, If more than 16 overs have been completed in the 2nd innings then
the team with the highest run rate will be classed as the winners I.e. team 1 score 180-4
45 overs team 2 score 100-7 in 20 overs, team 1 will divide their total score by the amount of overs.
180 divide by 45 = 4.00 run rate, team 2 100 divide by 20 = 5.00 run rate, team 2
win. Bonus points apply to losing team. If run rate tied than the match is a tie 13 points
each and NO bonus points.
6e Matches not started or cannot complete 16 overs each is void and both teams
will receive 6 points each and no bonus.
6f In a completed allotted overs when both team score the same this will count as a tie, you
will not look back to how many wickets lost, both teams will receive 13 points.
6g Points system, winning 26 points only, tied match 13 points only, void matches 6 points
each only, losing side bonus points only.
6h Bonus points: batting 100 runs = 1. 125 runs = 2. 150 runs = 3. 175 runs = 4. 200 runs = 5.
Bowling 2wkts = 1. 4wkts = 2. 6wkts = 3. 8wkts = 4. All out = 5.
7. No bowler shall bowl more than 9 overs, in a reduced match, overs will be divided in
to 5, i.e 40 overs divide by 5 = 8 overs per bowler. As per MCC rules.
8 Tea shall be taken between innings or by mutual agreement. The visitors will be charged
A fixed fee of £30.00. Tea will last no more than 20 minutes.
9 Fixtures will published by the fixture Secretary, once these have been received no
Changes will be made.
10 All league matches should be indicated as such on the fixture cards.
11 In the event of a team not been able to fulfil a fixture they must inform the opposition
by the TUESDAY evening prior to the match. This will result in a 20 point deduction
to the offending team and 26 points being awarded to their opposition.
11a In the event of team not been able to fulfil their fixture after the Tuesday (see rule 11)
they will also occur a £75.00 fine. This does not apply for rain.
12 1st xl take priority and must be played over and above 2nd or 3rd xl, 2nd xl take priority
over and above 3rd xl. Failure to do so will result in a 20 point deduction from all xl’s
of the offending teams.
13 Results MUST be entered on the website in FULL by the Monday following the match,
failure of this will result in a 5 point deduction from offending team.
13a It is the duty of the HOME team to enter the results, the away team MUST agree and
sign the scorebook making sure that all names including initials are complete. Failure
of this will result in a 5 point deduction from the offending team.
I4 In all divisions the winners of their league is the team with the highest points, when two or
More teams are equal the following shall apply:
A: The greatest number of victories
B: The lowest number of losses
C: The result when the teams played each other
D: The highest score compiled during the season in a league game
The above will be considered in order of priority specified above
15 One new Red Dragon ball in each innings for all matches, each club supplying a ball.
16 Umpires MUST be provided by 1st xl teams and that all teams must try to endeavour to
supply an umpire.
16a 1st xl matches without a umpire will result in an experienced player officiating the match
and the team playing one short.
17 No player shall be allowed to play for another club during a season unless sanctioned by
the committee following a written request from the player concerned, the player
concerned must of paid all duties to his previous club.
18 Captains shall be responsible for the rules and conduct of their respective side.
19 The league and its members are charged to abide by the following code of conduct and all
parties involved in the Lords International
for its players and officials and will take appropriate action against any individuals who
fail to abide by this code:
We will observe the highest standards of sportsmanship, behaviour and dress on and
off the field in keeping with the dignity and best traditions of the game.
We will not accept intimidation, aggressive behaviour and deliberate distraction
We will not accept dissent shown towards umpire’s decisions
We shall ensure all players and officals are acquainted with this code.
